Ever feel as though your prayers hit the ceiling and then crash to the floor? Ever feel like they never reach the ears of God? Ever feel powerless by the heavy anxiety that fills your mind and weights your soul?
Psalm 34:15, 17-19, says, “The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. The righteous cry, and the LORD HEARS and delivers them out of ALL their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them ALL.”
Regardless of how we “FEEL” today. God hears our cry for help. His ears are open to us. And, according to Psalm 34, not only does God hear us, He delivers us out of ALL our troubles.
Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo…GOD stands with us in the midst of our fire. Like Daniel in the lion’s den, God preserves us and shuts the mouth of our enemy.
If you’re like me, you probably wonder, why the hardships? Why the struggle? Why so much pressure?
Friends, every trial we face produces life and reveals a greater revelation of WHO GOD IS. When we abandon our will and pray “THY WILL BE DONE”…when we surrender our lives completely to God… God takes us on an awesome adventure. An adventure that at times proves difficult, but one that produces a revelation of GOD’S amazing grace and power.
James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (NIV)
Sometimes our trials become to heavy…and perseverance seems impossible…BUT…can I encourage you…GOD NEVER FAILS…And as Psalms 34 says…GOD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED and SAVES THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT!
Today, was one of those days where I broke and cried out to GOD saying…GOD…I need breakthroughs. I’m exhausted. I don’t feel like I can take one more step. I can’t muster up courage. I can’t fight anymore. HELP!!!!! I desperately NEED to see YOUR provision.
And that’s when God reminded me of Psalm 34.
Friends, God is near. He hears our cry. He has not abandoned us. He will save us and rescue us. WE are NOT alone! Jesus, Himself, is here by our side. He is full of GLORY…filled with ALL POWER. He carries us and fights our battles.
The revelation of WHO HE IS provides hope for our soul and the power to press on.
Personally, today, as I remembered GOD fights my battles, a smile formed on my face, and turned up slightly to one side. Determination filled my eyes. And, a power (NOT MY OWN) filled my heart, declaring bring it on enemy…Because I won’t shut up, let up, or give up, until I have reached eternity. My life is not my own. I have been bought with a price. And I will use my life to glorify The One Who saved my life.
May that same determination, hope, and freedom fill your heart and soul today! Don’t give up. Dream BIG. LAUGH OFTEN, Remembering God’s got it ALL under control.
PRAYER: Father, You are our hope. You are our refuge. Our ever present help in times of trouble. Thank You that You really do hear our Prayers. Today…help us. Deliver us. Provide for us. Grant us Your favor. Fill us with Your power. Give us Your wisdom. Provide the resources and strength to do ALL You have called us to do! And may we always reveal Your character, Your love, and Your Presence in our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

Julie,
I feel like you shared this just for me…Thank you…I truly needed to be reminded of God’s loving care.

Wow, your timing on this was just what I needed. My husband and I are going through some things right now involving our kids and grandkids and we have friends who have other issues they are suffering through, too. I will be sharing this with them because I feel like it will definitely lift them just like it did me. God Bless YOU!
Julie, You always write what I need to read. However, I feel the need to pray for you also. Your ministry benefits so many of us, but you are tired also. Praying for new energy for you. Praying for blessings for you as you minister to others.
Marcia, be encouraged today…God sees you right where you are! He will accomplish all that He promised!
Terri, May the presence of God guard your heart and encourage you with His peace. May He cover you and your children and your grandchildren with the truth that HE IS IN CONTROL.
Debbie, Thank you for your encouragement and your prayers. I am and will continue to push the hold button on life until I sense God’s renewed strength. I can only do what He empowers me to do…so…I honestly thank you for your prayers. God is faithful…I’m choosing to rest in HIM! 🙂
Thank you so much for this. It has made me feel alot better. I needed to hear this, sometimes you can become so depressed you forget about things but this has just reminded me that God has back, and he’s a very warmhearted, sensitive, compassionate god. So thank

Thank you. I was crying out to the Lord this morning. And I thought I would just Google it about crying out to God. About God hearing our cry and actually taking action. I was led to your comments and they were spot-on. Thank you Father! Thank you Gorman leadership.

I have been crying out to God for 71/2 years! There comes a point of heartache, trauma, and disappointment that you give up hope on any help or hope at all! I am a very very tired believer that is the only reason I’m sure that I get to another day! I am sure God is carrying me but I am still just tired! I try not to question but physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally I have lost hope but for some reason I keep praying! I will have an ocean of tears if I make it to heaven!
Lifting you in prayer Kathy. One of the things God encouraged me with during a really dark season in my life was this simple thought … “Never mistake my silence, as my absence.”
